Canadian Pacific Air Building in Yellowknife

The old Canadian Pacific Airlines building was built in 1946. The float plane base is a Heritage Site since 1992.

Historic Plaque:
"From the earliest day float planes have played an important role in the history of Yellowknife, and this building was central to many of the float plane operations. Built in 1946, this structure has housed the offices of Canadian Pacific Airlines Ltd., Associated Airways, Pacific Western Airline, Northward Aviation and Air Dorgrib. In the early days, the building was also used for social events, such as the Annual Firemen's Ball, hockey banquets and News Year's Eve Parties."
